Located on the side of the Equator street, North Pontianak, about 15 minutes from the city center. Equator monument was built as a sign that the city of Pontianak is right crossed by the equator line which is based on the records that were obtained in 1941 from Van En W by Opzihter Wiese, quoted from Bijdragentot de Geographie of Chef Van den topographieschen dient in Netherlands Indies: Den Sten 31 Maart 1928.
